Sun printing is produced on a special cyanotype cotton fabric that gives white and blue images on a deeper indigo background. The process is very simple: images such as leaves or grasses, paper silhouettes or designs drawn on transparencies are placed over dry cyanotype fabric, exposed to the sun or a UV lamp for 5-10 minutes, then rinsed and dried. The fabric is then ready to use as a quilt block, pillows, clothing.
We will work outside in the garden; if it rains, we will use a big UV sunlamp in Sylvia's studio.
Workshop fee includes 1 yd of 56" wide blue cyanotype fabric and assorted colored cyanotype squares: $40.00 value
