Fibre artist, Frea Gladish’s current passion is to explore the wonder-filled art of Stitched Shibori with indigo dyeing.

This is an introductory class to a world-wide and ancient art. We will use a simple project to learn the basic techniques of design, and hand-stitching to create a resist in our fabric. We will then be dyeing our fabric in an indigo vat, where we will get to see magical transformations!

Please bring with you: A pair of sharp, pointy scissors or a seam ripper; a pair of rubber gloves (the kind people use when hand-washing dishes) ; and a thimble.

We will break for lunch so bring along a sandwich, etc. We will provide tea and coffee.

Wear old clothes — the Indigo may stain.
